• CEMETERY POLICIES
  • All cemetery policies must be adhered to, regardless of when the lots were purchased. Most Holy Trinity Church may revise these policies at any time as needed. Gravesites that were previously purchased will follow policies that are in place at the time of burial.
  • A proof of purchase for lots purchased in advance may be required if discrepancies arise as to their ownership.
  • Regulations not addressed in this Policy Statement will adhere to the latest publication of the Minnesota Catholic Cemetery Rules and Regulations.
  • All burials shall be made with the assistance of a funeral home or an approved funeral director, so we are certain all rules and regulations pertaining to these burials are adhered to.
• SELLING/DONATING BACK GRAVESITES
  • Gravesites previously purchased, but no longer needed, may be sold back to Most Holy Trinity at the price they were originally purchased at.
  • They can also be donated back to the parish for a receipt of the current cost of a gravesite for tax purposes.
  • Gravesites may be transferred to a direct descendant of the original purchaser if approved by the cemetery board.
  • Selling or transferring ownership of a gravesite to a third party is not allowed in any circumstance.
• MOUNUMENT FOUNDATION AND INSTALLATION
  • The foundation for a monument can’t exceed the width of the lot, or lots if more than one are purchased next to each other. (Note that single lots require a NARROW upright memorial stone, not to exceed 30" or less.)
  • The footings shall be installed at a depth of at least six inches below grade for an upright marker, and four inches below grade for a foot, or ground marker, and constructed to have a life of 100 plus year.
  • The monument shall be sized so a four inch collar is maintained between the edge of the monument, and the edge of the foundation.
  • All above grade markers must be placed in line with the other markers already in place.
  • It is strongly encouraged to have one inch holes made on either side of the foundation’s collar at the time of installation for any plant holder, or Veteran’s flags.
  • In sections where a monument is to be set on a hillside, all sides of the top of the foundation will be level with the ground. On sides where this is not possible, the 4" concrete collar will slope from the bottom of the base of the monument to the lot line. There will be no sharp corners or sudden drop-offs.
  • If a monument is installed incorrectly, it must be redone correctly at the expense of the plot owner.
• BURIALS
  • In the event of a cremation burial, a concrete burial vault/box is required. Standard lot fees shall apply. Standard fees for maintenance and marking shall apply.
  • In the event of a casket burial, a concrete burial vault/box is required. Standard lot fees shall apply. Standard fees for maintenance and marking shall apply. Double depth full casket burials are not allowed.
  • 2^nd Right of Interment will be granted based on the following expectations:
  • Concrete burial/vault box is required.
  • 50% lot price (due at time of burial, based on applicable price schedule at time of burial).
  • All standard maintenance and marking fees will apply.
  • This 2^nd Right of Interment can only be used if the placement of the original vault allows the additional vault to be placed within the lot lines.
  • Double depth cremation burials may be allowed as long as detailed records of the original vault’s placement are kept by both the survivor’s family and the cemetery board. The depth of the original vault shall be installed deep enough to allow the top of the second vault’s placement to be a minimum of 18 inches below grade. These stacked vaults may be allowed to be placed directly on top of each other.
  • No additional monuments may be placed on the gravesite as additional burials are made. The original monument must be sized so there is sufficient space available for the names of the additional internments.
• GRAVESITE DECORATIONS
  • We are not responsible for items left at gravesites.
  • We are not responsible for items that are taken or removed from the cemetery without survivor’s knowledge or approval.
  • Flowers and plants are permitted only in vases that are part of a monument or in vases with removable stands that are inserted into the monument foundation. Statues, vigil lights and other items are allowed only if they are a part of the monument or inserted into the monument foundation.
  • Artificial flowers, plants, grave decorations and flowers can be displayed from May through August. All flowers, plants and grave decorations must be removed after Labor Day. All items will be removed that are left after this date.
  • No permanent planting of flowers, shrubs or trees.
  • Glass objects or containers are NOT permitted.
  • No landscaping.
  • “Shepherd’s crook” style hangers are NOT permitted.
  • Items may be removed without notice if they are an obstruction to maintenance.
